① Outline
- The Initiative for College of Humanities Research and Education (CORE) Project, through the university campus-wide model, will provide support to the selected researchers and research centers participating in the project's integrated studies initiative, in order to encourage collaborative research.
② Overview
- The CORE Project is constantly seeking out collaborative research involving departments and research centers participating in the four majors (East Asian Comparative Studies, the Classics, Data Science in the Humanities, Political and Economic Philsophy) established by the Initiative for College of Humanities Research and Education.
- We are conducting collaborative research which makes use of the joint/interdisciplinary majors.
<Examples>
• "Digital Humanities and Stylometry" collaborative research conducted by the Statistical Research Center and the Historical Research Center, which are participating in the Data Science in the Humanities integrated major
• The Chosun Dynasty annals, the representative digital text library of Korea, have undergone a reconstruction, revealing various data analysis methods through the use of various network models and text mining methods. Through this study, we will contribute to the education of students studying Data Science in the Humanities, under the integrated major, by making use of seminars and special lectures. Not only that, but we aim to further
- Those research centers participating in the joint/integrated majors may apply to the collaborative research group. If selected, they will be among 4 research centers that will receive support in the form of 10,000,000 each, totaling in 40,000,000 won of financial support.
- This financial support can be used for various activities required in collaborative research, however, it must not be used for development fees related to equipment, facilities, or faculty (on-campus) professors.
- A specific amount of financial support can be used to fund post-doc researchers, part-time lecturers, or graduate students.
- The collaborative research fee, as a rule, is administered via card or account deposit. When reporting results, the relevant documents and statements must be attached.
- Funding for the 2016 school year began September 1st, and development must be completed by January 15th, 2017.
