[Apllication] Information on selection of recipients for academic funding for the fall semester of 2018

In order to foster sustainable development and the next generation of academics in humanities, this fall semester (2018) CORE will provide a support fund for select candidates who fit the criteria listed below. We appreciate your cooperation so as many talented students may apply as possible. 


1. Target for Support
  A. CORE bachelors program: students enrolled in masters programs in the humanities (including students who have completed more than 66 credits and students planning on returning to school) who plan to enter the graduate school of humanities within four semesters 
    ※ students who have received this support fund in the past must re-apply 
  B. CORE masters program: students enrolled in a masters program for the 2018 fall semester (registered students)
   - students of leave of absence or who have finished their programs may not apply
   - Not applicable to those with overlapping benefits such as those operating with CORE funds through Yong-un scholarship, 2018 the next generation in the fields of basic study (masters program type C), GSI TA, and Faculty of Liberal Education and Center for Teaching and Learning (※ please check that you are not a recipient of any of these before applying)

2. Candidates and Support Amount
  A. CORE bachelors program: at least 00 students (800,000 KRW support per month)
  B. CORE masters program: at least 00 students (800,000 KRW support per month)
   ※ The number of people to receive support may be adjusted according to the bachelors/masters selection ratio rules of the research foundation
3. Requirements 
  A. CORE bachelor students: after graduating from the bachelors program students must enter a masters program in the humanities at SNU

   ※ students who do not enter graduate school and students who do not complete their programs must return the support fund


  B. CORE masters students :
   1) Must participate in mentoring in the CORE masters program
   2) For the length of the funded semester, must participate more than once at a seminar (presentation, discussion, Q&A, etc.)
4. Application and Recommendation 
  A. Student application: bring the application documents to your department and apply according to the cooperation process
   ※ Must submit the document related to the 2018 school year’s academic support fund (attachment 7)


  B. Department recommendation

   1) Recommendation deadline: August 17, 2018 (Friday) by 6:00 pm

   2) Method of recommendation: submit the individual application documents (refer to attachment 1) and departmental recommendation list (attachment 2) as official documents
