College of Humanities CORE Program News for November 12, 2018
** Weekly or Biweekly Newsletter for Professors at the College of Humanities
1.There will be an awards ceremony for the 2018 CORE participation essay contest and for the excellent achievement of the Ministry of Education’s scholarship·study support project.
a. Purpose: To introduce the nation to the excellent achievements within the Ministry of Education’s scholarship·study support project, to bolster researchers’ self-respect, to motivate new research, and to form a social consensus for the need of research support.
b. Main Contents: There will be an award ceremony for 50 excellent achievements, an award ceremony for CORE participation essay contest, a special forum, etc.
c. Date and Time: 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018
d. Place: The K Hotel Seoul, 2nd floor, Gayageum Hall
e. Attendance: over 500 researchers, general participants, etc
※ Acting president of SNU, CORE Project Manager, Vice-Project Manager, employees, and CORE essay contest winner are all expected to attend.
※ Two students from our school’s Humanities Department are scheduled to receive awards (grand prize, participation prize): please refrain from making this information public before the awards ceremony (per request from the Research Foundation)
※ Due to the above mentioned awards ceremony, it may be difficult to visit the administration office on Tuesday afternoon. Thank you for your understanding.
2. The second 2018 CORE Project Executive Committee meeting will be held as follows.
a. Date and Time: 11:50 AM Wednesday, November 14, 2018
b. Agenda: the CORE Project's Budget Diversion (planned)
3. There will be an inspection of the study support fund recipients’ qualifications for the CORE Project’s third year.
a. Date and Time: 2:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018
b. Place: Seoul Square small conference room 3
c. Contents of Inspection: present condition of the recipients of study support fund, documents of 4 major types of insurances (masters students in the coursework, must be certified on October 1, 2018), certificate of enrollment, etc.
