College of Humanities CORE Program News for September 10, 2018

1. The first CORE conference as well as orientation for recipients of academic support funds for fall semester will be taking place as follows. We hope that with the help of the humanities students this becomes a place of dynamic academic exchange. 

- Date and Time: Friday September 7, 2018, 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
- Location: Humanities Building 14, Room B101


2. There will be a meeting to evaluate essay contest submissions for students participating in the CORE project for the 2018 school year. The best essay amongst SNU students will receive an award and will be entered into an essay contest hosted by the National Research Foundation of Korea’s for all universities participating in the CORE project.


Contest Topic
- Your impression of the CORE project as a participant including your achievements, future plans, etc.
- Please include what CORE course or program you participated in and what positive changes and accomplishments you were able to achieve through the benefits of that course, how project support enabled your research activities and prospects, etc.
Contest Target: all students enrolled in humanities undergraduate and masters programs who have participated in any type of CORE support project
SNU Screening: Wednesday September 12, ~ Thursday September 13, 2018
Other Information
- During the first essay contest for universities participating in the CORE Project for the 2017 school year, the chairman of the National Research Foundation of Korea awarded the grand prize and participation awards. 
- In the case where a students’ work is selected for publication in a booklet or for submission to the National Research Foundation of Korea, the student may be asked for use of their copyright


3. The four selected teams for the small scale undergraduate group seminar support project for the fall semester of 2018 have started their activities. We ask for your continued interest and guidance for the semester. 

Period for Seminar: Thursday September 6 - Friday November 30, 2018
Support Amount: Up to 500,000 KRW per team
