College of Humanities CORE Program News for June 25th, 2018

1. The submission period for the third annual revised CORE operations plan has been announced.

  A. Deadline for the first round of submissions:
    - Online: Wednesday, June 27th at 6 pm
    - Offline (receipt by mail): Monday, July 2nd, at 6 pm 
  B. Newly scheduled programs for the third year and breakdowns of projected operational expenses by model will be included
  C.  Colleges will be selected for a second-round of inspections following the first-round evaluations of the revised operations plan.
 

2. The summer 2018 CORE Joint and Interdisciplinary Program Overseas On-site Education event to be supervised by the Comparative Studies for East Asian Humanities program has been scheduled as follows. 

  A. Time Period: Friday, June 29th, to Sunday, July 1st (3 days and 2 nights)
  B. Location: Shanghai, China
  C. Advising Professors: Head of the Comparative Studies for East Asian Humanities program Jin-ho Park (Korean literature), Jeong-hun Lee (Chinese Literature), and Sang-jin Kang (Philosophy) (3 professors)
  D. Assisting Staff: Comparative Studies for East Asian Humanities program staff member Seulgi Kim and PhD of East China Normal University Min-jeong Kim (2 assisting staff members) 
  E. Participating Students: 21 students total 
 

3. A panel discussion of the National Assembly is scheduled for the promotion and development of academic research in the humanities and social sciences. Researching professors, faculty members, and students of SNU are scheduled to attend with members of the national CORE Project and members the Council of Deans of Colleges of the Humanities, for a total of approximately 350 attendees.

 A. Date: Tuesday, June 26th, 9 am to 12 pm
 B. Location:  Conference Room of the National Assembly Meeting Hall
 C. Host: The Office of National Assembly and Democratic Party of Korea member Eun-hye Yu, in concert with major organizations dedicated to the development of the humanities and social sciences.
