College of Humanities CORE Program News for June 4th, 2018

1. Support for small-scale undergraduate seminar activities will be concluding this week. We would like to thank all participating faculty for their hard work and leadership over the course of the semester.  

  A. Seminar Period : Monday, April 2nd to Friday, June 8th 2018

  B. Participating Seminar Teams:  7 teams following the Enrichment of Core Studies Model, 5 teams following the SNU Model (12 teams total)

  C. Report and Budget Statement Submission Period : Friday, June 8th, 2018 

2. The deadline for applications for the 2018 CORE Domestic Summer Internship program has passed. The results of the first selection meeting are scheduled to be announced later today. 

  A. Target Applicants : Students enrolled in the College of Humanities or registered in an interdisciplinary or joint major program connected to the CORE program  (Entering students may apply as well)

  B. Announcement of Selected Candidates : Monday, June 4th, 

  C. Internship Period: The latter part of June 2018, to the latter part of August 2018 (two months, subject to adjustment)  

  D. Participating Institutions and Number of Available Internship Positions: Approximately 19 positions across 7 participating institutions
    - Money Today
    - Com2uS
    - The Onyul Corporation
    - Selim Intellectual Property Law Firm
    - The Institute for Democracy (policy research institute for the Democratic Party of Korea)
    - The office of national assembly member Yong-Tae Kim (member of the Liberty Korea Party, representative for the Yangcheon-gu district)
    - The office of national assembly member Su-Min Kim (member of the Bareunmirae Party)


3. The summer 2018 CORE Joint and Interdisciplinary Program Overseas On-site Education event in Shanghai has concluded. After receiving many applications from students, a meeting to select participants was held and the results have been announced. Thanks to all participating faculty for your interest and diligent leadership.

  A. Target applicants: Students enrolled in the college of humanities, or students registered in or scheduled to enter a  joint or interdisciplinary program tied to the CORE Project  

  B. Number of selected applicants : Approximately 20

  C. Date: Friday, June 29th, - to Sunday, July 1st (3 days and 2 nights)

  D. Location : Shanghai, China
