1. The 2017 CORE Symposium Will Be Held This Week. Participation and Attendance Is Encouraged.

 

    A. Date: Friday, September 8th, 2017 from 1PM to 5PM

    B. Location: College of Humanities, Building #14 Rooms B101 and 610

    C. Supervising Organization: Seoul National University CORE Project

    D. Schedule

- 12:30~13:00 Registration

- 13:00~13:10 Greetings and Welcome (CORE Project Lead)

- 13:10~13:30 Keynote Speech (Dean of the College of Humanities)

- 13:30~13:40 Transfer to Subsequent Sessions

- 13:40~16:10 Conference (Sessions Ⅰ/Ⅱ)

 

 

2. 2017 Fall Semester Application Period for Support of Undergraduate Group Seminar Activities

 

    A. Target Applicants

      -Seminar groups consisting of 5 or more current financial support recipients

      -Seminar groups consisting of 5 or more participants in the CORE   

      Joint or Interdisciplinary Studies program

  B. Support Amount: Up to 300,000 won per team

  C. Application Period: Monday, September 4th to Friday, September 9th 2017, by 5PM

  D. Period of Support:  Wednesday, September 13th to Thursday, November 30th, 2017

 

 

3. An Academic Publishing Seminar Will Be Held by Brill Publishing. The world-famous academic publisher, Brill would share some useful tips to get researches published internationally. We would like to ask for the participation of professors and graduate students who may have an interest.

 

   A. Title: How to Get Your Research Published Internationally

                  - Tips & Tricks from an Academic Publisher

   B. Speaker: Mrs. Liesbeth Kanis (Managing Director, Brill Asia)

   C. Time (Scheduled): Tuesday, September 12th, from 1PM to 3PM

   D. Place: Building #14 Room 610

       ※ The above schedule is subject to change as per the changing circumstances

               of the CORE Program

 

4.  Selection and Orientation Information for New Interdisciplinary Students

     Entering in the Fall Semester

 

     Fall semester orientations and presentation by interdisciplinary major programs

    for newly selected students are scheduled as follows:

 

   A. Philosophy, Politics and Economics Interdisciplinary Major

       - Interviews: Thursday, August 24th, 2017

       - Number of Successful Applicants: 28 Individuals Total

       - Orientation: Scheduled for mid-September

            (Newly accepted students and prospective applicants are also welcome)

 

   B.  Classics and Philology Interdisciplinary Major

       - Orientation: Thursday, August 31st, 2017 at 5 PM

       - Place: Seminar Room for Program in Classical Studies

                        (College of Humanities, Building #14 Room 321)

 

   C. Data Science for the Humanities Interdisciplinary Major

       - Application: Wednesday, August 16th to Tuesday August 22nd, 2017

       - Interviews: Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017

       - Announcement of Results: Thursday, August 24th, 2017

       - Number of Successful Applicants: 21 Individuals Total (Out of 30 Candidates)
