College of Humanities CORE Program News for June 26th, 2017

1. Commencement of the 2017 CORE Field Experience Project for Joint and

    Interdisciplinary Majors

    A. Organizer: Data Science for Humanities Interdisciplinary Major
    B. Period: Monday, June 26th to Saturday, July 1st, 2017
    C. Location: San Francisco, California, United States
    D. Participants: 24 incl. 
          19 students, Project Lead, 2 professors & 2 teaching assistants
    E. Main Schedule:
        - Monday, June 26th: Assemble at Incheon Int'l Airport, 3rd Floor, Counter A by 1 PM
        - Stanford and UC Berkeley Digital Humanities special lectures and related seminars
        - NASA Ames Visitor Center
        - Visits to Silicon Valley IT startups and meetings with startup members


2. Additional Recruitment for CORE Domestic Internships

    A. Target Applicants: Students enrolled in the College of Humanities
                        and students registered for CORE-affiliated joint and interdisciplinary majors
                        (including students scheduled to enter)
    B. Internship Period: Monday, July 3rd to Wednesday, August 30th, 2017 (2 months)
    C. Internship Positions: SBS News Headquarters, New Media Bureau(maximum 6 positions)
            - New Media news editing assistant: 1 position
            - Video Mug news video production and planning assistant: 1 position
            - SBS News planning assistants and news video production assistants: 3-4 positions
    D. Details of Support: 500,000 won per month (total of 1,000,000 won for two months)
    E. Recruitment Period: 9:00 AM Friday, June 23rd to 5:00 PM Wednesday, June 28th, 2017
    F. Successful Applicant Announcements: Individual notifications
        by email on Friday, June 30th after 1:00 PM
        * Selected students must submit the Internship Results Report


3. Support for Summer Vacation CORE Undergraduate Group Seminars

    A. For group seminars that include at least five current CORE academic
         scholarship recipients
           * Groups may include non-scholarship participants, but the seminar leader
              MUST be a CORE academic scholarship recipient
              (including CORE Preparatory students)
    B. Support Amount: Up to 300,000 won per team
    C. Application Period: Tuesday, June 20th to Monday, June 26th 2017 by 5:00 PM
    D. Project Period: Wednesday, June 28th to Friday, August 25th, 2017


4. Support for Summer Vacation CORE Joint and Interdisciplinary Major Group Seminars

    A. For group seminars that include at least five students in CORE joint or interdisciplinary majors
      (at least two thirds of the participants must be students in CORE joint or interdisciplinary majors)
