College of Humanities CORE Program News for April 3rd, 2017

1. The College of Humanities Research and Education (CORE) Project Self-

   Assessment Meeting

     The 2016 College of Humanities Research and Education (CORE) Project self-assessment

     meeting is scheduled as follows:

      A. Date and Time: Friday, April 7th from 12:00 PM

      B. Location: College of Humanities, Building 14, Room 601

     C. Participants: CORE Self-Assessment Committee members (9 members)

 

2. Support for the Humanities Lecture Mutual Exchange Pilot Program

      We are currently requested to recommend professors to participate in the Humanities Lecture

      Mutual Exchange Pilot Program organized by the Department of Education and the National

      Research Foundation.

      We urge any interested professors to apply.

      A. Goal: To develop superior educational models through the exchange of humanities lectures

      B. Prerequisites: participants must be full-time faculty members

      C. Recommendation Deadline: Friday, April 14th, 2017

      D. Activities: starting from the 2017 fall semester, participants will give special lectures at

         participating CORE universities in the designated regions.

      E. Details of Support: lecture fees and incentives will be issued to participating faculty from 
                                         CORE business expenses

      F. Note: Universities who participate in the Humanities Lecture Mutual Exchange Pilot Program
                   will be granted additional points on the CORE interim evaluation.


3. Notice Concerning the Guest Lectures by Prominent Domestic Scholars
 
 

     The third guest lecture by a prominent domestic scholar will be hosted by the Seoul National

     University Department of Philosophy and the Political and Economic Philosophy

     interdisciplinary major.

     We urge anyone who is interested to attend.

    A. Date and Time: Thursday, April 6th from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM

    B. Location: College of Social Sciences, Building 16, Room 312

    C. Speaker: Professor Jung-Kyoo Choi
               (College of Economics & Business Administration, Kyungpook National University)

    D. Lecture Title and Contents:
         · Altruism Inside Us: An Inquiry into Altruism Reflected in Individual Behavior

          This lecture addresses topics such as what sort of existence others have to us and

          to what extent we consider others when making decisions though the examination

          of a variety of experimental results.

          Individual reflection in the society, individual behavior and role of institutions will also

          be discussed.


4. Notice Concerning the CORE Project Budget Disbursement

      Due to the delayed signing of the CORE Project’s second business year contract, the deposit of

      the first scheduled payment of working expenses (10% of the total amount) has also been

      delayed.

      Please understand that the payment of scholarship funds and project expenses will be slightly

      delayed.
