Information on application for the 2018 winter Joint and Interdisciplinary Majors’ overseas on-site education (Hangzhou)
 

The CORE Project is offering an opportunity for overseas onsite education this 2018 winter break. The details are listed below. We hope to have many interested students apply. 

 
 

1. Project Goal: The joint major Comparative Studies for East Asian Humanities will supervise a visit to the historic sites of Hangzhou, China to broaden student’s knowledge of their major and experiences. 

 

2. Project Outline

 

  A. Supervising Department: the joint major Comparative Studies for East Asian Humanities

  B. Target Participants

    - Students enrolled in a CORE Joint or Interdisciplinary Major

    - Undergraduate students participating in the CORE project

  C. Period for on site education: Friday, January 18 - Sunday, January 20, 2019 (2 nights 3 days)

  D. Location of on site education: Hangzhou, China

  E. Number of Participants: about 19 (including the guide)

  F. Main Schedule:

    - Visit the old address memorial hall of the Korean provisional government in Hangzhou

    - Exploration of West Lake, Baekje, Leiden Pagoda, Mausoleum of General Yue Fei, and Temple of Soul’s Retreat 

    - Tour of Zhejiang Art Museum, Hangzhou Museum, etc. 

 

3. Selection Procedure

 

  A. Application Period: Friday, December 21 ~ Thursday, December 27, 2018 (by 5:00 PM)

  B. Documents for Submission: participant registration form, legal representative consent form, release of person information consent form (attached form), copy of passport

  C. Application Method: submit the original copies of all the documents to the office for the joint major Comparative studies for East Asian Humanities (Building 14 Room #517)

(※ please submit a copy of your passport as a color image file to snueasia@snu.ac.kr for visa issuance)

  D. Announcement of Participants: planned to be announced after 3:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2018

  E. Other

    - Participation Fee: 150,000 KRW (money to be transferred to travel agency, participants will be informed of bank account information later on)

    - Participants are required to attend the pre-departure meeting and follow-up meeting related to the on-site education

    - At the end of the overseas on-site education, participants must  submit a final report
