College of Humanities CORE Program News for December 24, 2018

1. The 2018 winter Joint and Interdisciplinary Majors’ overseas on-site education (Hangzhou) is detailed below. 

  A. Supervising Major: Comparative Studies for East Asian Humanities 
  B. Target Applicants: enrolled students participating in the CORE Project and undergraduate students in the CORE Joint and Interdisciplinary Major 
  C. On-site Education Period: Friday, January 18, 2019 - Monday, January 20, 2019 (2 nights 3 days)
  D. Location for On-site Education: Hangzhou, China
  E. Application Period: Friday, December 21, 2018 ~ Thursday, December 27, 2018
  F. Number of People Selected: about 19 (including tour guide)

2. We are currently in the bidding process for selection of service company for the 2018 winter Joint and Interdisciplinary Majors’ overseas on-site education (Italy).

  A. Supervising Major: Classics and Philosophy Interdisciplinary Major
  B. Target Applicants: enrolled students participating in the CORE Project and undergraduate students in the CORE Joint and Interdisciplinary Major 
  C. On-site Education Period: Friday, January 25, 2019 - Monday, February 4, 2019 (9 nights 11 days)
  D. Location for On-site Education: Italy (Sicily-Rome-Siena-Firenze)
  E. Proposal Presentations for Bidding Business: Wednesday, December 26, 2018
  F. Announcement of Candidate for Preferential Negotiation: Thursday, December 27, 2018 (scheduled) 

3. There will be an orientation for successful candidates to the 2018 winter CORE domestic internship program.

  A. Date and Time: 2:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018
  B. Place: Humanities Building 14 Room #610
  C. Target of Orientation: total of about 25 people from 10 organizations
  D. Work Period:  Wednesday, January 2, 2019 ~ Thursday, February 28, 2019 (two months, time period may vary for each organization)

4. 2019 CORE conferences are open. We ask for your support in giving students who have received various funding from the CORE project the opportunity to share their academic achievements. There will be a special lecture by the recipient of the 2018 fall semester excellence in research award (research field), Professor Lee Jong-Mook, followed by dinner. We hope that many people show interest and attend. 

  A. Target: enrolled undergraduate·masters humanities students
  B. Date and Time: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2019 (scheduled)
  C. Place: Humanities Building 14 Room B101 (scheduled)
